We have three wards in our clinic - a Dog ward, Cat ward, and an Isolation Ward, in separate rooms, plus our Intensive Care Area.
Our dog ward has a number of different sized cages, so we can
accommodate the smallest to the largest dogs. We have a very large run for dogs like Great Danes, or when there
are many pets from one family who would like to stay together. We can view our patients through a window, so we can keep
an eye on them without disturbing them.
Our cat ward is separate so cats are not scared by having dogs
around and it is kept nice and quiet. There is a window to our treatment room, so we do not have to disturb our patients
while we observe them. Like the dog and isolation wards, there is heating under the floor so that our patients are
comfortable on those cold Canberra nights!
We have an isolation ward so that any patients who have very contagious
diseases, can be kept separate to other patients. The room is set up so that we can still provide intensive care, and
through a window we can keep a close eye on these patients. The entrance is away from where our other patients are
moved and treated, to help avoid any chance of an infection passing on.
